The all-electric eCanter has already been signed up to fleets worldwide by companies such as DHL, UPS and 7-Eleven.
It could be followed by a ready-for-work eCanter waste collection truck, if the latest development project announced by Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) proves successful.
Fuso NZ managing director Kurtis Andrews said that, if released, the model would likely prove popular in New Zealand.
“When we announced eCanter in 2017, we received a lot of interest from councils and local authorities. A ready-to-go waste collection truck would be a natural fit, and demonstrates the practical application of this truck in urban environments.”
