No hassle, no fuss
Whangarei Drycleaning fleet and distribution manager Aaron Martin is a bona-fide FUSO Service Plan advocate, thanks to the hassle it removes from his job – and the operational advantages it adds to the business
Such is the value Aaron places in having a FUSO Service Plan, he confidently states: “I wouldn’t buy another new truck without one.”
It’s safe to say his experience with his FUSO Canter and its associated Service Plan, managed by his local Keith Andrews branch, led Aaron to the unshakable belief that having strong service plans in place for his vehicles is the best way to go.
“Service plans make our lives a lot easier. We have a flat payment, so we don’t have to step outside your monthly budget to keep our fleet on the road, which lets me put it into more productive areas rather than saving it on the off chance I’ll be faced with a $2,000 service fee if something goes wrong,” says Aaron.
One flat line
A regular, fixed outgoing for servicing rather than spikes in expenditure allows the business to have a more consistent cashflow – and takes a hassle away from Aaron’s busy job of managing 23 vans and three trucks.
“We get one bill per month, and that takes care of it all. Being on a plan takes the hassle out of vehicle maintenance, plus we know we’re getting looked after, and we really get looked after! It’s so helpful when you have 26 other vehicles to worry about, because I know this truck is taken care of. It’s bliss.”
His experience has been so good, that Aaron is strongly thinking about transitioning his whole truck fleet to FUSO when the time comes. He’s eyeing up a Fighter because he’s heard excellent things about its fuel efficiency, reliability and suitability for around-town work. Not to mention, his Canter has given him no worries at all.
“I’m keen to keep it FUSO from now on and have all my trucks on a service plan. Having a one-stop shop and one workshop, rather than taking my vehicles to different parts of town for work, is really appealing.”

Increased uptime for his Canter, which travels around 35,000km per year picking up and dropping off laundry from Whangarei as far north as Kaitaia, is another benefit of the package.
“They get me back on the road as soon as possible – I don’t know what happens in the background regarding making sure I get parts but they don’t fail! I haven’t had to have it off the road for more than a day.”
Aaron has a small fleet, which needs to be well maintained to meet the needs of the business. A service plan helps him keep it on the road for longer, increasing productivity, profit and evening out cashflow. An all-round win!
